Salvaging into Monstrous Items? - Guild Wars Forums

Just wondering if anyone has found anything that salvages into any of the Monstrous items, most notably Monstrous Eyes? There's not a whole lot on Guildwiki, but I suspect that there will be a lot more salvageable things in Cantha for the Monstrous items due to the usefulness of them now.

Also, any information on certain mobs that drop the Monstrous items more often would be greatly appreciated as well.

I don`t think, although I don`t know, that anything will salvage into Monstrous Eyes. I would guess that Eyes salvage into something. I picked up a Monstrous Eye from one of the Afflicted about my tenth drop in Cantha.

I don't think so either,..they show as a rare crafting material, and the two I've come across both dropped from Afflicted's.

Yeah , Afflicted drops them alot, was in party in one mission ( Forgot name)
And got myself 2 Eyes

Yup, I've found a lot of Monstrous Eyes from Afflicted drops. Even as early as the Zen mission on Shing Jea (In fact, I've found more in that mission than I have anywhere else

)

What are the things used for anyway?

Why is everyone after these now? I seen people WTB them in the training island in factions.

Hydras drop the claws I believe

I have had a claw or two drop recently... though I can't remember what from. The Monstrous Eyes are needed for Necromancer Cantha armor. I have a Rit who needs claws for her armor, and my wife has a necro who needs the eyes. Think we might just do that mission a few times, see if we get any to drop.

I get claws and fangs (?) from enchanted bow,hammer and sword guys near Dunes. Hydras, well, ive farmed them forever, never had a monstrous anything from them.

I've had the claws drop a couple times for me from Bog Scales in Kryta too, but I can definately say it wont be a common drop. ;\

For Reference: All Fang drops I got in Tyria have been from Enchanted monsters (the things in the Desert).

I got a Monsterous Eye from a Kappa, and a Claw from an afflicted last night

The dropings of these Items have infact increased alot since in one day i recieved 2 monsterous claws fighting stuff in the starter area in cantha.
